The King Black Dragon, KBD, is the eighth strongest monster in RuneScape. He has combat level of 276 with 257 hit points, as well as very high attack and defence levels. Recently, the King Black Dragon has lost popularity since the loot it drops can be acquired from easier to kill monsters. He is still fought, however, by clans or individuals looking to pass time.

The King Black Dragon Lair
The King Black Dragon's lair is a multi-combat zone, allowing groups of players to fight him simultaneously. The lair is a level 40 Wilderness dungeon near the Lava Maze. The dungeon may be accessed via a ladder in a fenced area containing four Lesser Demons. The ladder leads to an area with poison spiders, and a lever which will teleport the character to the King Black Dragon's lair. The lair itself isn't in the Wilderness, but players are in the Wilderness until they pull the lever.

Attacks
The King Black Dragon uses many attacks, and can use melee, magic and ranged attacks - making it a well-rounded and difficult foe. The King Black Dragon uses a magic attack similar to fire wave, which can easily damage melee players. It also uses 4 types of dragonfire, all of which may cause high damage:
Regular dragonfire like all dragons
Ice breath that can freeze players to the ground
Poison breath that will deal 4 poison damage
Water-like breath attack
Killing him becomes easier if the group forms a circle around him. He pauses between attacks to choose a target and he does not attack everyone at the same time.

Strongest monster
The King Black Dragon also holds the record for the longest period of time spent as the strongest monster in RuneScape. He was the strongest for nearly two years before the Kalphite Queen was introduced into the game. Since then, the TzTok-Jad has been introduced, and is almost three times the level of the King Black Dragon. However, despite this, the King Black Dragon still lives up to his name as he is the most powerful dragon in the game of RuneScape.

Dagannoth

At any given time, there are likely to be several members fighting Dagannoths beneath the lighthouse.
Dagannoths are sea monsters found in RuneScape, an MMORPG designed by Jagex. They are extremely similar to a Xenomorph. According to the Fremenniks, a tribe of barbarians, they are known as Dagger-mouths (probably for the reason that their teeth are similar to little daggers). There are many types of Dagannoths, with the most powerful being the 3 Dagannoth kings.

The Dagannoth mother
As part of the Horror from the Deep quest, a player will eventually have to go into the basement of a lighthouse, where he or she will have to face a Dagannoth, which is level 100. The Dagannoth only uses melee and is pretty easy to defeat. After the Dagannoth is defeated, its mother will come out. She can use melee and ranged, and frequently changes colours. When she is a particular colour, only certain types of attacks work effectively against her, otherwise the player's attacks will hardly do any damage. Below is a list of the colours she can change to and what type of attack works effectively against it.

The return of the Dagannoth Mother
During the Recipe for Disaster quest, players will face a Culinaromancer, a mage who specialises in food spells. During the final battle, he will summon five infamous quest bosses and cast a food spell on them, making them bigger, stronger, and tastier than ever. However, not even the gods will venture into this devilish meal, so prayers are disabled during these battles. The Dagannoth Mother is the final one players will face. During the battle, she is level 130 and known as the Gelatinnoth Mother. She is made out of jelly and throws rings of jelly at players for a ranged attack. Besides being a higher level and having slightly stronger attacks, she is defeated the same way as in Horror from the Deep.

Lighthouse Dagannoths
After players are done with the Horror from the Deep quest, regular Dagannoths will take over the lighthouse basement. They are level 74 and 92. They both use a ranged attack, and it has terrible aim. However, the level 92 Dagannoths also use melee, which is much more accurate. They will try to melee players whenever they get a chance to. These Dagannoths are in a multicombat area, so they are a good training place for players who have a cannon or are training their Slayer skill. The lighthouse Dagannoths also drop a large assortment of high level herb seeds, all above ranaar. They also drops Belladonna seeds, used in making super weapon poison(s).

Waterbirth Island Dagannoths
In the dungeon on Waterbirth Island, there are many unique types of Dagannoths and other sea monsters. First, there are level 90 Dagannoths. These use melee and can hit over 20 damage. There are also level 42 Dagannoth Spawn. They hatch from the eggs that are scattered all over the dungeon. Finally, there are level 88 Dagannoths that use ranged and hit over 20 as well as level 70 Dagannoth Fledgelings (which can only hit a max hit of 7). This is to be avoided by new players to the game.

Dagannoth Kings

At the very bottom of the Waterbirth Island Dungeon, there are 3 legendary level 303 kings. They are known as Dagannoth Prime, Dagannoth Rex, and Dagannoth Supreme. Dagannoth Rex uses melee, Dagannoth Prime uses magic, and Dagannoth Supreme uses ranged. They can hit up to 30 to 50 maximum depending on which is fought, and they drop the much sought after Dragon Hatchet, Seercull (Bow), and Mud Staff. They can also drop Fremmenik rings (Seers, Warrior, Archer, and Berserker), which are similar to the Fremmenik helmets (they add stats to attack skills). They can also drop Dagannoth bones, which give more prayer experience when buried than dragon bones. Like the rest of the monsters in Waterbirth Dungeon, the best way to kill them is to fight based on the combat triangle. So use melee on the Dagganoth Supreme, ranged on the Dagganoth Prime, and magic on the Dagganoth Rex. Bringing a group is very important. Using a cannon on these three monsters is not recommended as it will draw attention from the other monsters in the area. Other monsters similar to these kings that a group might want to fight are the King Black Dragon and the Kalphite Queen.

RuneScape has a variety of random events, which are said by the game's creators Jagex to help prevent macroing. They can also add variety to some of the more repetitive activities in the game. However, these random events can kill players if they are not paying attention or do not know the correct response to make. RuneScape Classic does not have such a system.
Players must respond to most random events in the correct manner to avoid receiving a negative effect (such as being teleported across the map). If a random event requires players to speak to someone (i.e. Mysterious Old Man), the player must "talk" to the NPC to avoid receiving a negative effect. Some of these negative effects are found to be annoying, but most can be easily avoided if players are paying attention. Some random events will also give players a reward if they react appropriately, and are thus more popular. Some players dislike random events that can give penalties but no rewards and consider them annoying hindrances.

Guardians
Guardians are random events that will attack players when they are performing a particular skill. The combat level of the player determines the level of the guardian, which is always significantly higher that that of the player. Only the targeted player can engage in combat with a guardian, which will fight to the death or until the player leaves the immediate area for a short period of time.
River Trolls may be encounted by players while Fishing; river trolls are very possessive of their "fishies". Upon defeating these monsters, players may receive fishing bait, raw fish, or, in rare instances, fishing potions.
Zombies may be encountered by players while burying bones. Upon defeating these monsters, players may receive even more bones, possibly ten sets or more, ranging from regular bones to highly-coveted dragon bones.
Shades may be encountered by players while burying bones, as they guard burial sites jealously. When defeated, shades can drop both top and bottom pieces of shade robes.
Tree Spirits may be encountered while Woodcutting; tree spirits live in trees and do not want their homes destroyed. When defeated, tree spirits can drop hatchets, knives, herbs, nature runes, bananas, herb seeds, or tree seeds.
Watchmen may be encountered by P2P players while (thieving). Employed by local authorities to crack down on crime, they don't care much for thieves. Defeated watchmen can drop gems or coins.
Rock Golems may be encountered while Mining. Players who disturb the sleep of one of these rocky giants can run away or stand and fight these tough but slow-moving monsters. Rock golems can drop ores or earth runes when defeated.

The Swarm is an unavoidable event.

Evil Chicken
The Evil Chicken can attack players at any time, even when they are doing nothing. Like guardians, the level of the chicken, ranging from 13 to 159, is determined by that of the player targeted; it can only be attacked by the targeted player. Unique among random monsters, the Evil Chicken attacks with magic; therefore, it can continue to hit players as they run away. After defeating the Evil Chicken, the player receives raw chicken, bones, and a relatively large number of feathers. The Evil Chicken has recently earned a role in the Recipe for Disaster quest; players must kill it to obtain its evil egg, which is an ingredient in the creme bruleé.

Swarms
Players can be attacked by swarms at any time and really have no choice but to run away. The swarm cannot be attacked, even with insect spray, and players will continue to be hit by 1 or 2 hitpoints damage every few seconds until they leave the immediate area.

Free gifts
Givers of free gifts offer players anything from beer or gems to experience in a skill of the player's choice. These NPCs simply give players the items as long as the players respond to them. Players who ignore them, however, may find themselves under attack or in a strange corner of RuneScape.
Strange plant (Members only): Rapidly growing jungle plants bearing purple "strange fruits" may appear next to players, who must wait until the fruits are fully ripe before picking them. If ignored, the plants attack the players, usually poisoning them. The strange fruit, which is tradable, restores 30% of the player's running energy when eaten. It is possible to attack the plant, but it would seem to be very time-consuming to kill as the maximum amount of damage it sustains per hit is 3 hitpoints. It is unknown how many hitpoints the creature has, and it has no level.
Drunken dwarf: A drunken dwarf will come up to players, swearing he is their best buddy. If players humour him, he will give them beer and kebabs. If they ignore him, he will throw rocks at them until they talk to him or run away. He cannot be attacked or killed, even with a ring of recoil. The drunken dwarf's brother is the main NPC in the Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf quest.
Genie: A Genie may appear before players and offer them magic lamps. Players who choose to ignore the Genie will be teleported to a random corner of RuneScape. The lamps can be used to increase skill experience by an amount equivalent to ten times the player's skill level in that skill. For example, if a player has reached level 44 in a skill, he/she will receive 440 experience points in that skill from the lamp. Players can save the lamp to use later; however, the lamp cannot be deposited into the bank and is not tradable. The Genie's evil brother is an NPC in the Spirits of the Elid quest.
Capn' Hand: This pirate appears randomly, mistaking the player for a pal of his. If players ignore him, he will attack with his crossbow. If they talk to him, he will reward them with a gem, coins, or a spinach roll.
Rick Turpentine: Rick Turpentine is an ex-Highwayman wishing to atone for his past crimes by returning items he "collected" to players, who will be rewarded for talking to him. He does not completely have the hang of going straight; he relieves players who ignore him of their money.
Sandwich Lady: The Sandwich Lady visits players to give them a tasty treat; however, she decides what treat they must take from her tray. If they take the wrong item or ignore her completely, she gets angry, knocks them out with a baguette, and teleports them to a random location.

Earned gifts
Earned gift givers expect completion of a task before they reward players with their coins, gems, items of clothing, or experience. Ignoring the NPC and failing the task can both result in players being teleported to a random location on the other side of RuneScape or being attacked.
Jekyll and Hyde (Members only): When Doctor Jekyll appears beside players, he begs them to keep him from changing to the monstrous Mr. Hyde by providing a herb he needs for his potion. If the player is carrying one or more herbs in invertory, the herb requested will always be one of them. If players agree to help or respond but do not have an herb in inventory, they will be rewarded. If players refuse to help or ignore him, they will be attacked when he transforms. Players who defeat Mr. Hyde will receive a potion with a random number of doses.
Freaky Forester: This strange man teleports players to a clearing in some distant forest to help him kill a pheasant, but not just any pheasant will do. If they bring him the carcass of the correct pheasant, he may reward them with some of his uniquely rustic clothes, which are not tradable.
Frog Prince/Princess: Players may suddenly find themselves ankle deep in giant frogs. They must find the one with a crown and kiss it to receive a frog token. Players can take the token to Varrock's clothing store and redeem it for a Frog Mask or a Princess/Prince Costume. The masks and the clothing are not tradable. If players choose to ignore the Frog Prince/Princess, they will be teleported to a distant place where they must beg the Frog Prince/Princess for forgiveness before being teleported back to their starting place without a frog token. Ignoring the Frogs will earn players the Frogland music.
Certers: The Draynor Certers from RuneScape Classic have now made their appearance in RuneScape 2. Players visited by either Miles, Giles, or Niles must identify a noted item to get a reward. If players ignore them, they will find the contents of their inventory and equipment screen transformed into bank notes. Items that cannot be noted (quest items, runes, arrows, etc) will remain in item form. Some players will drop any items they do not want noted then deliberately get the answer wrong, in order to carry more items from a remote location.
Drill Demon: A demonic army is forming, and players may find that they've been drafted!! Players must follow the Sergeant's orders, and prove themselves worthy of his command. He rewards players with part of the camouflage uniform, which is not tradable.
Candlelight: Sometimes when players bury bones, a monk will appear and transport them to a church where they will have to light candles with a taper. If they do it correctly, he will reward them with money.

Pillory (Members only): Players who are caught thieving can be teleported to the Pillory, where they can be humiliated by their fellow players pelting them with rotten tomatoes. Players must match the keys to the locks to release themselves. If the keys are matched incorrectly, they multiply thereby making the player match more keys. The pillories are located in Varrock, Yanille, and Seers' Village.
Capt' Arnav (Members only): While farming, players may be visited by Capt' Arnav, who has buried his treasure in the patch where they are growing their crops. He will share his loot if they help him get the lid off the chest. It works similar to a slot machine.
Evil Bob: The evil alter ego of Bob, the Jagex cat, Evil Bob plays the central role in two random events.
Fishing : In this event, Evil Bob transports players to the warped plane of ScapeRune to work as slaves. They must talk to the other slaves to find out which type of fish Evil Bob wants. They must catch the correct fish, uncook them, and present the raw fish to Evil Bob. After eating a few of the fish, Evil Bob will fall asleep, allowing players to escape and collect experience.
Prison Pete: Evil Bob drags players off to the mirror world of ScapeRune and locks them in jail, where they meet Prison Pete. The keys to the prison portals are hidden inside little balloon animals scampering around the floor. Players must pull the big lever to see which sort of animal to pop.
Leo the Gravedigger: Leo is having trouble with his coffins, which are in the wrong graves. He needs players who are good at burying things to match the coffins to the graves. As a reward, Leo gives items of zombie clothing and emotes (zombie walk and zombie dance) to successful players. The clothing is not tradable and has no combat statistics. Players who already have all the clothing and emotes will receive 500gp.
Grab the Evil Twin: Molly has an evil twin who she needs to imprison in her house; however, the twin has four innocent NPCs with her. The player must move a claw around using the control panel until the red target is on the evil twin, then hit the Grab button to lift her into the air and put her in the cage. The player only has two chances to grap the evil twin as the claw has limited magic. Players who are successful are rewarded with gems. Unsuccessful players are teleported to a random location.

The Mysterious Old Man

The MOM is a very common random event.
The Mysterious Old Man (MOM) is just a lonely old man and is the central character in a variety of random events.
Lonely MOM: Sometimes the MOM only wants to talk for a moment. Players who respond are treated to various amounts of money, different gems, or less than tasty, but healthy spinach rolls. If players ignore him, they are teleported to a random place in RuneScape.
Strange Box: Sometimes the MOM appears briefly, places a strange box in a player's inventory, and disappears. If the box is left unopened in inventory, it will multiply. The player must open the box and answer its simple question to receive a reward. Multiple boxes must be opened one by one and only the last box contains the reward.
Maze: The MOM may teleport players to a maze where they must open a series of doors to reach the centre. The more quickly they complete the maze, the better the reward waiting at the end. This random event offers rewards ranging from runes and arrows to feathers and ores.

Mime: The MOM may transport players to a stage where they must step into the spotlight and copy the emotes being performed by a mime. If players copy four emotes successfully, they will be released under a torrent of applause. Rewards consist of a piece of mime clothing (boots, gloves, mask, legs, shirt), which is not tradable, or unique emotes (lean on air, climb rope, glass wall, glass box). Players who already have all the emotes and clothing are rewarded with 500gp. There are three audience members, which appear to be the three major gods, as the first is a bearded old man wearing white (Saradomin); the second is a green man of nature (Guthix); and the last is a mean-looking bald man wearing red (Zamorak).

Quizmaster: The MOM may teleport players to the stage of a RuneScape version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Odd One Out. Players must answer questions about RuneScape items in order to receive their choice of an unspecified cash prize or the mystery box.
Pinball : The MOM teleports players to a gigantic pinball table, where they must tag the ten poles with rings around them. Tagging an unringed pole or attempting to leave the table resets the score to zero. When players have tagged all ten poles, they are rewarded with a random number of gems and teleported back to their original location.

Inconveniences
Lost and Found office: Players who are teleporting using runes are occasionally shunted into a small abyss, where they must determine which of the four levers is the odd one, then pull it to continue to their destination. Players are compensated for the inconvenience by the return of the runes used, and possibly a few more, for the journey. Players interrupted while teleporting to the rune essence mines will receive noted essence as their payment. Players who do not pull the correct lever, however, may receive damage or be transported to a random corner of RuneScape.
Big fish: Some big fish do not like being caught; they steal a player's equipment, spitting it out nearby, and disperse the fish from the fishing spot. Players must then retrieve their tools and find another fishing spot to continue fishing.
Whirlpool: When confronted with a whirlpool, players must respond quickly in order to avoid losing their equipment. Fish can be caught from whirlpools, but this requires at least level 76 fishing.
Broken tools: Axes, pickaxes, rakes, and spades can be overused, causing them to fly apart. To return to work, players simply need to pick up the loose head, which will be on the ground close by, and reattach it to its handle.
Ents: Some trees contain creatures known as Ents, which cause the tree to dance wildly. Players chopping a tree when it is inhabited by an Ent must stop chopping immediately to avoid having their axes broken. Bob has a repair shop in Lumbridge where he can fix broken axes, for a price.
Exploding gas: When a mining rock builds up too much dangerous gas, it will release the gas in a cloud. When this occurs, players must stop mining immediately to avoid an explosion that will damage their pickaxes. Damaged pickaxes can be repaired by Nurmof in the Dwarven Mines, for a price.
Poison Gas (Members only): Some chests are filled with poisonous gas to deter would-be thieves. Players just need to leave the area until the gas dissipates to avoid receiving damage from the poison.

Obsolete events
Walking Rock: Some rocks just walk away while being mined.
Dr. Ford: Dr. Ford appeared when the character would get into an accident while fishing, mining, or woodcutting (i.e. miss-hitting a mining rock). He talked to players and asked how many fingers he was holding up. It was blurry and the hand was moving around. If players guessed the right amount of fingers, he would give them a fruit. If they guesssed the wrong amount of fingers, they were teleported to a random place. Dr. Ford has been removed from the game due to various numbers of glitches he has caused.
Tangle Vine: The oldest "obsolete event", vines would sprout from the ground and would "entangle" players. These vines would deal damage to players if they moved while the event was in progress. It was removed and replaced with the Drunken Dwarf the day it came out due to glitches, because doing most actions counted as moving, and clicking to stop the action was also considered moving.
Some events that are not obsolete can be very rare, leading to player speculation about the best way to provoke particular random events.

Chaos Elemental

The Chaos Elemental draws many non-player killers into the deep wilderness.
The Chaos Elemental is a non player character in the MMORPG RuneScape. It is the game's fourth most powerful monster, with a combat level of 305 and 350 hitpoints. It was released on February 20, 2006. It bears resemblance to a dark cloud and has a lavender tint.

Location
The Chaos Elemental is located west of the Rogues' Castle, next to the scorpion pit, in the Level 50 through 52 wilderness, an area available only to RuneScape players who pay a monthly fee (P2P). The monster does not have a special lair; it appears out in the open. Its location has become a popular spot for player versus player combat (PKing), making the battle with the Chaos Elemental even more difficult as the challenger must also fight off the PKers in order to engage the monster in combat.

Attacks
The Chaos Elemental fights with a seemingly magic-based attack consisting of waves of green-blue spirals. It also uses two special attacks. The first teleports players a short space to several screens distant. [1] The second unequips items that players are wielding, forcing them to take time to equip their armour and weapons before continuing the battle.

Dragon two handed sword

Along with the introduction of the Chaos Elemental to RuneScape came the release of the dragon two handed sword. The Chaos Elemental is one of only two monsters with the rare chance of dropping this sword, the other being the Kalphite Queen.[2] This sword, like other dragon weapons, is red and can only be used by P2P players. The sword is notched and is carried balanced on the wielder's shoulder. Its special attack consists of the player ramming the sword into the ground to do additional damage. This attack can affect all monsters in the area surrounding the attacker if they are in a multi-combat zone. The dragon two handed sword is one of the most expensive pieces of equipment in the game, partially due to its newness and partially on its own merits.
RuneScape has several fictional deities, or gods; some of these are listed below. These gods contribute a lot to the RuneScape plot, and give RuneScape more of a storyline. The gods often play roles in quests and are talked much about by players. The gods also provide an impact in the fact that there are many items that involve them, such as the Guthix Prayer Book, or the Holy Symbol of Saradomin. Also, some players choose a certain god to "worship", while this has no real impact on the game it is more for the added competition it provides.

The 3 Main gods
These are the most widely recognised gods in RuneScape. Guthix has few followers and items, but Saradomin and Zamorak have many times more. Most often, these three gods are represented as being "brothers". However, Guthix established in the God Letters that their actual relationship is beyond mortal comprehension, and the term "brothers" is merely used as a convenience.

Saradomin
Saradomin is a fictional deity from the game RuneScape. Saradomin is the God of law and order. Saradomin was one of the two main participants in the God wars after Guthix departed. While Guthix was gone, Saradomin shaped the world as he would and created most of the intelligent races. Saradomin's symbol is a four-pointed star, and he himself is usually visually represented as an old man with a bald head. Saradomin has the most human followers in the less "civilised" areas of the RuneScape world, and altars to his skill can be found everywhere. Saradomin monks have set up altars of worship to him, the largest being the Monastery/Prayer Guild and a church on the island Entrana. Entrana is the place where Saradomin first arrived on RuneScape and is entirely dedicated to him. (Less is known about Saradomin's place of origin- from various quests to do with the Majharrat and Zaros we discover Zamorak is probably from Freneskae, but there is little information on Saradomin. He seems to have come from a dimension other then Gielinor or Freneskae.)
Despite Guthix's ban on the Gods interfering in the RuneScape realm, they will still offer their followers help in the form of prayers that offer temporary stat increases and various protections. One's God gains power in the mortal realm whenever their followers glorify them by burying the bones of the dead, singing hymns in their honour, and other rituals in their names. The prayer skill can thus be analogised to gaining the favour of the Gods. Also the uniform for those who follow Saradomin in RuneScape is the Monk's Robe.
Players can learn the magic spell "Saradomin Strike", which causes a lightning bolt to fall on whoever it is cast upon. Other minor examples of his power in this realm include the fact that if the player wears items dedicated to Guthix or Zamorak onto the Saradomin castle wars team he or she will get a message from Saradomin saying that he is "insulted that you come to him wearing items of his "lesser" brethren" and that he will make the player spend time in "the lowliest of forms" until he or she can appreciate the gifts he grants to his followers. At this point, the player is changed into a rabbit or sheep for the rest of the waiting period.
In Saradomin's letters he usually talks with the same fully modern British English as the authors of the game, but from time to time he will lapse into an older English like that used by Guthix, a partial testament to his true age. In a way, Saradomin is an image of the Christian God.

Guthix
Guthix is a fictional deity from the game RuneScape. Known as the God of balance and nature, Guthix strives for a perfect balance. Considered neither good nor evil, Guthix does both when he needs to balance out the actions Saradomin and Zamorak when either of them tips the scale too far in their own favour. Guthix is immensely powerful, more so than any other god. In principle and practice, he is similar to the Tao of Eastern Religions.
Guthix arrived on RuneScape to find a lost civilization. He reshaped the world of RuneScape and went into a deep "sleep", or as it is described, "A state of meditation which was so intense that he couldn't concentrate on anything else." . In his sleep about a score of other deities tried to rule the land of RuneScape. This is when the God wars occurred and Saradomin and Zamorak usurped the world of Guthix. They would have continued to battle and completely obliterated the world of RuneScape had Guthix not reawakened and prevented them from doing so. He has also made the other gods not to interfere directly with RuneScape affairs. That he has the power to do so proves he is the most powerful god.
Guthix calls the world in which RuneScape is set "Gielinor", the name he christened it with in the beginning. Guthix is often seen as a floating skull with tendrils attached to it but can appear in multiple forms. He has been seen as a multicoloured butterfly and a rock-like object. He has no gender. His true form is impossible to comprehend by mortals. His followers are limited but include the druids, seers, gnomes, and players who choose this path. The dwarves, though not particularly religious, respect Guthix as the source of the metals they mine so diligently. The unique trait about Guthix is that, unlike Zamorak and Saradomin, he does not need followers to remain on the mortal realm but instead draws strength from all living things, showing why he does not demand worship from those who follow his ways.
Taverley is a town completely dedicated to Guthix. He's followed by the Druids of Taverley. Due to his connections with nature they (and chaos druids) are experienced in herblore and some areas of farming. In the Mage Arena, one can get a Guthix Staff to perform the Claws of Guthix spell, a spell that causes a giant purple hand to erupt from the ground and crush the opponent. If a player enters the "Guthix portal" in the castlewars minigame while wearing objects of Saradomin or Zamorak he or she will actually get a small line of dialogue from Guthix stating how he feels sorry for the player's faith in his lesser brothers (Saradomin and Zamorak) and that he will bless the player with some time in the holiest of forms so its wisdom may rub off on the player. At this point during the waiting period the player is turned into a sheep. In his letters on RuneScape.com, Guthix speaks in a dialect of Early Modern English (Such as the kind used In Elizabethean and by Shakespeare) often thought to be middle English.
He and Zamorak also both share followers called chaos druids and chaos druid warriors who follow both Guthix and Zamorak.
For some unknown reason, Guthix gives sheep his protection, and Gnome children mention 'Guthix's Angels', who apparently are all around but cannot be seen.
Most players of RuneScape argue over the correct pronouciation of his name. Some of the various pronunciations include "Guh-Thicks", "Guh-Ticks", "Gut-Thicks", or even "Guth-T-Thinks."

Zamorak
Zamorak is a fictional deity from the game RuneScape. Zamorak is the God of chaos, strength, and betrayal. He also burnt the Wizard's tower. Zamorak was the second main participant in the God wars. Though he did not shape the world as Saradomin did, Zamorak had corrupted many parts of the would-be orderly world Saradomin envisioned with taints of "evil"(in the opinion of most people), especially in human nature and such.
Zamorak was not always a god but was once mortal. To how he became a god was once a closely guarded secret. However, it can now been found out by talking to ghosts from the era. He used to be the head general of the great god Zaros and warred against the other deities who had risen against him (including Saradomin) until he and some of his close followers decided to rebel. Using the Staff of Armadyl Zamorak was able to stab Zaros in the back with it whilst his close followers (including Hazeel, Drakan, Zemouregal, Enakhra and others who can be found in the modern era) fought off Zaros's body guards. When Zaros had the staff imbedded in his back, his power was weakened enough so that he was now on an equal field with mortals and so Zamorak fought him. Even though Zamorak was the strongest mortal of all time and Zaros was in a weakened state, Zaros was still able to beat Zamorak. However, when Zaros had him in his grasp and was ready to deliver the death blow, Zamorak kicked him, thus causing him to lose his footing and causing the Staff of Armadyl, previously only barely in his skin, to impale him and Zamorak. Due to this, some of Zaros's divinity was transferred to Zamorak and he became a god while Zaros was forced into another dimension.
The Zamorakian symbol is similar to "(m)". Zamorak is portrayed as a larger figure with a red tint in his face and horns resembling Satan and other demons of the Judeo-Christian religion. Zamorak commands the various types of demon and dragon, and has the ability to summon undead creatures. In previous ages the Zamorakians, hated and feared by Saradominists, were driven out of main cities. Though not as common as altars to Saradomin, chaos altars are still a relatively common sight in the RuneScape world. There is a Chaos Temple north of Falador on the boarder of the wilderness. In this small temple, evil monks guard the sacred Wine of Zamorak which is used in the herblore skill. If the player take the wine Zamorak will use a very weakened form of the Flames of Zamorak spell on he or she with a little box of dialogue saying "STOP STEALING MY WINE! GAHHHH!" There is also a church dedicated to Zamorak in Varrock, despite it being a heavily Saradominist city. Although most of society disapproves of them, Zamorakians have a number of secret societies such as the Zamorakian Magical Institute (a research organisation based in the Varrock temple). Zamorak's territory is mainly in the former battlefields of the God wars now known as the wilderness. It could be said that Zamorak controls the lands to the east of the river Salve as there is a much greater proportion of his followers here made up of werewolves and vampires. However this can be arguable as many Saradominists have managed to make settlements in Morytania (Port Phasmatys has grown so prosperous it manages to conduct heavy trade with the peoples of the East) However, these settlements often experience disasters due to Zamorak's intolerance.
In the mage arena one can learn the spell "Flames of Zamorak" which sets fire to the he or she will get a message from Zamorak. He expresses his disgust that the player dares come to him wearing items of his lesser brothers and that such wrongdoing should be rewarded with time in the most mischievous of forms. The player then spend the rest of the waiting period in the form of an imp. Zamorak rarely uses Olden English, unlike Guthix and Saradomin, but occasionally, one will see him refer to himself in a pretense. He also tends to be extremely sarcastic, as opposed to the other two gods.
Zamorak's main source of entertainment is death, even that of his own followers (except perhaps those of his most loyal and strong ones). Forgiveness is not a trait associated with this deity. Zamorak is an image of Satan, just as Saradomin is an image of God.
The Zamorakian Mage that grants access to the abyss is a follower of Zamorak and so, supposedly are the abyssal creatures.

Other gods
These gods still exist in the world of RuneScape, but aren't as popular as the 3 main gods. They have little or no active followers, no letters, but maybe some holy objects dedicated to them. The creators of Runescape have on occasion hinted at there being 50 or more gods, demigods and immortals, but rarely are they forthcoming with information.

Zaros
Zaros is commonly thought to be the God of destruction and pure evil. However, no confirmation has ever been made to his true motive. He is also referred to as the God of Ancient Magicks or "The Empty Lord". Zaros once led a tribe of powerful mortals called the Mahjarrat. Zamorak was a mortal at the time Zaros was in power. But eventualy, Zamorak, who was a member of the Mahjarrat, used the staff of Armadyl to kill Zaros. All of Zaros's followers joined Zamorak except Azzanadra and Akthanakos. Azzanadra (see below) remained loyal to him but was imprisoned in a pyramid in the Kharidian Desert. Zaros's altars were destroyed but his religious symbol was discovered to be a cross in a circle. Only two Zaros altars still exist, the one in the pyramid where Azzanadra is imprisoned and the one in the digsite. Zaros made his appearance between Guthix's sleep and the God wars. His legacy beats strong within the current deities as Saradomin will not speak of him and Zamorak seems to even fear him. Due to his sleep, Guthix has no knowledge of him. There are few associated with this God. Whether Zaros will ever return to his true power is unknown. His symbol, a circle with an equidistant cross through it, can also be found on the Ancient Staff. Before his disappearance, Zaros cursed those who betrayed him, helped betray him or were involved in any way, intentional or not. The ghosts of the cursed ones can be found in RuneScape. Their names are:
Veldez
Rennard
Kharrim
Lennissa
Dhalak
Viggora
The story of how Zaros was betrayed goes as follows: Veldez, a faithful Saradominist, stumbled upon the Staff of Armadyl, who knew that it was a very powerful God Staff and could not be in the wrong hands. However, a thief called Rennard found out about the Staff, and knocked Veldez unconscious and took the Staff. He intended to sell it to Zaros. His messenger, Kharrim, instead took it to General Zamorak of the Mahjarrat, who was mortal during that era. Another Saradominist called Lennissa found out about the sale and gave it to a Saradominist Mage called Dhalak. Dhalak was supposed to pass it to Saradomin himself, but he thought he could give the Staff to Zamorak so Zamorak could rebel against Zaros so evil would be destroyed. His intentions were good but his plan backfired. Zamorak and his supporters, including Viggora, took care of Zaros's guards and Zamorak fought Zaros himself. He plunged the Staff of Armadyl into Zaros and wounded him severely. However, even when Zaros was very weak, and Zamorak was the strongest mortal in all of RuneScape, Zaros was still able to beat him. However, Zamorak managed to land a kick on Zaros, and both of them were impaled by the Staff of Armadyl. Zaros's power flowed through the Staff into Zamorak like an electric current, and Zaros was forced into another dimension while Zamorak became a God. However, before he died, Zaros uttered a curse unto Veldez, Rennard, Kharrim, Lennissa, Dhalak, Viggora and all those involved in the rebellion, including Zamorak. The curse was to take effect once they die, making them wander around RuneScape as ghosts for eternity. Veldez and the other 5 people were cursed, but the others involved disappeared. Zamorak could not be touched by the curse as he was a God and could not die. In the end, the Staff disappeared into the Temple of Ikov and Zamorak became a God, while Zaros was in another dimension and the 6 people mentioned were cursed.

Armadyl
Armadyl appeared around the same time as Zaros did and seemed to have disappeared at the same time also. He is Saradomin's predecessor, and they are friends unlike Zaros and Zamorak. When Zaros was defeated, Amardyl probably decided his work was done, but if Zaros rises Amardyl may make another appearance too. However, he has managed to keep a small cult of followers even with his "disappearance". He seems to share the same power as Zaros but it is unknown. Armadyl shares similar philosophies as Saradomin and pivots with his view on miniscule points the greatest of which is where Saradomin believes people must be sought out and taught goodness, Armadyl believes people must seek this goodness themselves and for this Armadyl is very passive and this is why he seems to have disappeared. Armadyl's Staff is kept in the Temple of Ikov after it's uses in banishing an evil God while creating another.

Icthlarin
Icthlarin is a rather unknown God to most of RuneScape but in the deserts especially in the ancient cities of Menaphos and especially the city of Sophanem he is better known than all of the above-mentioned Gods. Icthlarin is the God of the dead and was the former leader of the Mahjarrat, before Zaros took his position and sent him into a desert exile, much like what Zamorak did to Azzanadra. Icthlarin is seen as something of a combination between man and dog since he has a dog's head and the body of a man (which is covered in greyish-black dog fur) bearing much resemblance to the Egyptian god, Anubis. His greatest adversary is his sister who craves to destroy the souls of man in direct conflict with Icthlarin's will. His followers include the Menaphites, cats, and other peoples of the deserts. His symbol looks much like the Egyptian symbol for eternal life but slightly slanted. Being the God of the dead, Icthlarin can grant immortality to beings by simply refusing them a natural death (they can still however be murdered) which he does for the cats now employed as the guardians of the dead.

Amascut the Devourer
Amascut is a goddess of destruction and is often referred to as The Devourer. She is a goddess belonging to the Menaphite Pantheon. As her name suggests, she is inclined towards the destruction of everything in existence. Although she is not the sworn enemy of man, in the recent centuries she has taken to the destruction of the souls of humans. Originally, her form was like that of Icthlarin except resembling a cat instead of a dog but now she is forced to take the form of a human wanderer. She was once worshipped by human followers before she took to destroying humans which was tolerated until she began to attack her own temples and clergy. Soon the remnants of her followers banded together, confronted the Devourer, and cursed her so that her name would never be remembered, she could never return to her original form or power, and she could no longer recruit disciples though she cursed them in turn to forever wander in her form (similar to the origin of cats in RuneScape). Her greatest fear is of her former followers the cats which retain fractions of her former power and still hold a desire for revenge against her. Her symbol is like Icthlarin's but upside down and more twisted. Her former followers include all the cats in RuneScape. It is not known whether Bob the Jagex cat is a follower.

Marimbo
Marimbo is the god of monkeys. He is a relatively unknown god that is only worshipped on Ape Atoll. The town Marim in the Atoll is most likely named after him. He is symbolised as a giant ape. He has one temple with two altars in it which is constantly patrolled by guardians and priests. There is also a statue of him in the centre of town guarded by a poweful ninja monkey named Padulah. It is not known if this is a real god.

Seren
Seren is the goddess of the elves made completely from crystal. It is said she inspired the elves to build their city (Prifddinas) the way they did so they could communicate, protect themselves and prosper. She is also the original provider of crystal weaponry. More information is provided on her and the history of this great crystal city in one of the books of Prifddinas history found in the bookshelves of Lletya village. There is one known altar to Seren found in the elven town of Lletya. It resembles the altars of Saradomin, but made of wood with a symbol like a sickle or crescent moon.

Elidnis
Elidnis is a goddess belonging to the Menaphite Pantheon. She is the Menaphite goddess of growth and fertility and she is also goddess of the river Elid. She helped build the town of Nardah when a woman named Nardarine almost died of hunger and thirst in the desert when trying to escape the God Wars between Saradomin and Zamorak in the Third Age of RuneScape. She also bound 3 wandering spirits to the river Elid. They are involved in the Spirits of the Elid quest, which players may talk to to learn more about the God Wars after they have completed the quest. Their names are Tirrie, Nirrie and Hallak, and they have power over the river Elid.

Tumeken
Tumeken is a God belonging to a group of gods called the Menaphite Pantheon. The only information available about him is that he is the husband of the goddess Elidnis.

The Kendal
The Kendal is meant to be a giant bear and is worshipped as a mountain spirit by the Fremmeniks. He is believed to be living in the Trollheim Ice Mountains. During the Mountain Daughter Quest, it is revealed that the only being living in the mountains is a man in a bear costume, but the real Kendal has yet to be found.

Fossegrimmen
Fossgrimmen is a Goddess of the Fremmenik Lake. She lives in a small altar at the water's edge. The altar is just the rotten remains of a wooden boat. Players may offer a raw Shark, Sea Turtle or Manta Ray, or a raw Bass if he or she is wearing the Unlocked Ring of Charos so that she may enchant the player's lyre. The lyre is obtained during the Fremmenik Trials Quest and when enchanted by offering a shark (or bass with ring of charos), allows the player to teleport to Rellekka twice. Offering a Sea turtle gives 3 teleports and a Manta Ray gives 4 teleports.

Demi Gods
Demi Gods are beings that are "half Gods", or have great powers and are not considered to be normal mortals.

Iban
Iban is known as the son of Zamorak but this is more in his close connection to Zamorak in power, morality and ways rather than in physical relation. Iban was originally one of the stronger black knights who had a thirst for power that in his current form he could never quell. After he died in battle, a powerful witch came upon his body. She found his soul suitable for the new creature she would create. She made a voodoo doll in the likeness of Iban and smeared some of the original Iban's flesh for his new flesh, blood from a large spider for his new blood, Ancient Magicks were used to create a new shadow for her, and the body of a newly slaughtered dove was put into the doll for his new consciousness. Iban made his realm in an Underground Pass formerly used for connection between Ardougne and the lands to the west. In his new form Iban ladened the underground pass with both physical traps and evil power. These forces drove frequent visitors to the pass mad, summoned mighty and powerful magicks, and above all converted both willing and unwilling followers to soulless zombies of completely loyal minions. Though not physically related, Iban is still worthy of the title "Son of Zamorak" and this, coupled with his Godlike powers makes him a Demi God. It is argued that the 'Staff of Iban' is actually a Staff of Zamorak that Iban carved in his own image during years of madness in the Underground Pass.

Lord Draynor
Lord Draynor is the vampiric brother of the powerful Lord Drakan. They are both vampires, and once both resided in Morytania, but according to the werewolves he became trapped in Saradomin's land, and became weakened. He lives in a coffin in the basement of Draynor Manor. He must be killed during the Vampire Slayer Quest, and is surprisingly weaker than any other vampires apparently because crossing out of Morytania drained him of most of his strength. He has only a combat level of 34. To finish him off, the player needs a wooden stake, some garlic and a hammer.

Lord Drakan
Lord Drakan is the Lord and Ruler of Morytania and Master of Vampires. He is the brother of Lord Draynor, who lives in Draynor Manor. Drakan is a Vampire and was once a member of the Mahjarrat (a group of warriors from the mystical realm of Frenaskae) and has strong connections with Zamorak who also was a Mahjarrat warrior. He requires a blood tithe from everyone in Morytania. For example, the werewolves of Canfis must give up a portion of their hunt, or one of their own people must pay the tithe in their own blood. Lord Drakan came into RuneScape in the second age along with fellow Mahjarrat members. He was one of the original followers of Zaros who sided with Zamorak and betrayed him.

Charos
Charos was a follower of Lord Drakan. Charos was an expert diplomat, and could control the Weak Minded. However, he tried to take over Lord Drakan's power and was punished. Charos is now believed to be dead. His Ring, however, survives, and players can use it to control the Weak Minded once they receive the unlocked Ring of Charos during the Garden of Tranquillity Quest.

The Mahjarrat
The Mahjarrat originally come from the realm of Freneskae. They were once controlled by the god Icthlarin (see above), but Zaros later took control of them. They are a very warlike and ancient race as can be seen by the attitudes of their members. They live incredibly long lives, can use magic without the assistance of runestones, and are very strong. There are rumours that they are the original users and makers of the powerful Dragon equipment that came from Freneskae. A long time ago, the Mahjarrat were controlled by Zaros (see above). However, a large group of Mahjarrat lead by Zamorak (see above) rebelled and overthrew him. Most of the Mahjarrat somehow died or disappeared long ago. Lord Drakan and Zamorak are members of the Mahjarrat as well as being gods.

Tharmarron
Tharmarron is an elder demon and was once a general Zamorak's army in the third age. He was teleported to RuneScape through a portal from his dimension and was responsible for the destruction of the desert city, Uzer. Armies of Golems fought against him and wounded him severely, but he won in the end. After destroying Uzer, Thammarron crawled back through the portal to the dimension where he came from, but died soon after due to his injuries. He had helped Zamorak rebel against Zaros back in the second age.

Lucien
Lucien helped overthrow the once almighty god - Zaros in the second age, along with help from fellow Mahjarrat members. He was the mage amongst the Mahjarrat and helped hide the presence of the staff of Armadyl from Zaros before Zamorak himself used the staff against Zaros to defeat him.
In the Temple of Ikov Quest, he gives players his pendant, granting him access to the Chamber of Fear. During the quest players may switch to follow Armadyl and murder Lucien, or steal the Staff of Armadyl and hand it over to Lucien. Even if players kill Lucien, he reappears in Ardougne after the quest, as a simple death is not nearly enough to destroy him.

Akthanakos
Akthanakos is involved in the Enakhra's Lament Quest. He at first appears to be a God having the head of a camel, but in the end of the quest his head turns into a skull showing he is dead. It is unknown if he simply has a camel's head or if it is simply a helmet but most lean towards thinking it is a camel's head since Mahjarrat are shapeshifters thus making no need for a helmet.
Akthanakos fought his rival, Enakhra, in a temple that she built dedicated to Zamorak in the Kharidian Desert. He was transformed into a Boneguard when he was defeated. At the end of the quest, Akthanakos's true allegiance is revealed during a cutscene and he actually follows Zaros instead of being a God himself. He is a Mahjarrat and was against Zamorak's rebellion against Zaros. Akthanakos teleported after the cutscene to an unknown land. He is the only known Mahjarrat aside from Azzanadra who did not betray Zaros.

Azzanadra
Azzanadra is an ancient Mahjarrat from the second Age with incredible magical powers who followed Zaros. Most information we have on him is from the Desert Treasure quest. He is the original user of the Ancient Magicks in RuneScape and the only known Mahjarrat not to have betrayed Zaros, other than Akthanakos. When Zaros was defeated Azzanadra continued to fight against the forces of Zamorak and Saradomin to try and help save Zaros's House and he was found to be immortal, so they locked him in a pyramid and bound his essence into four Diamonds, which players must retrieve in the Desert treasure quest to release Azzanadra from his prison. There is controversy about whether Azzanadra has died or not. When found he is seen floating with no legs and somewhat transparent leading many to believe he is dead and a ghost but not only can the player speak with him without a ghost speak amulet, but he speaks as if he is still quite alive. He has a purple jackal's head and pink shoulders. The rest of him being the unnatural white colour custom to all Mahjarrat. It is unknown if he has the head of a jackal or if this is just armour. Azzanadra apparently has a bad sense of time seeing as when he was spoken to, he thought it had been but a few days since his capture, but, in reality, it was close to 3 millennia.

Enakhra
Enakhra is a Mahjarrat who follows Zamorak and helped rebel against Zaros. In the Enakhra's Lament Quest, it is shown that she knows Ancient Magic. She defeated Akthanakos (see above), her rival when he entered the temple that she built dedicated to Zamorak.

Hazeel
Hazeel is a follower of Zamorak. He was almost like a brother to Zamorak. Many years ago he was killed and his estate claimed by an ancestor of Ceril Carnillien. In the Hazeel Cult Quest, players have a choice to revive him. If the player sides with Hazeel and listens to him, he says something similar to "I must go and make preparations with my fellow Mahjarrat on Ice Mountain."

Zemouregal
Zemouregal is a Mahjarrat follower of Zamorak. Not much is known about him and he has not appeared in the game. Zemouregal confronted Arrav in the Land of Dreams and tried to steal his famous and powerful shield.

Demons
There are many demons in the world of RuneScape that are quite powerful. In the Gods' letters, demons are shown to be Zamorak's servants and seem to be under his command, although some seem to act under their own will. Here are the more famous and powerful ones.

Lesser Demon Champion
After killing an unspecified number of lesser demons, Champions Guild members may be challenged to a duel by this monster. It is combat level 162 and forbids the use of armour or weapons in the duel, and uses a fire mage attack.

Delrith
Delrith is a Demon that threatened to destroy the city of Varrock 150 years previous to the reign of King Roald. He was defeated by the warrior Wally the Great while wielding the sword Silverlight, which was made by Guthix. He eventually returns and players must reclaim the sword Silverlight and defeat him. In the new letters from the RuneScape characters a humourous twist was added to Delrith stating that the only reason that he did not invade Varrock yet was because he was so embarrassed about not having any clothes, however he has no problems with the streets running red with blood once he does find some clothing, and that he was so embarresed when he saw his reflection in the sword Silverlight that his combat level dropped to a pathetic 27.

Agrith-Naar
Agrith-Naar is different from most demons in that he was not made for actually fighting in the RuneScape plane but more for manipulating the world from a different dimension. Apparently some were tempted to pull him from his dimension in order to grant upon them great things such as Abyssal Whips, Dragon Chainbodies, and other powerful objects. He was pulled from his dimension and he cleverly disguised himself as a Zamorakian and manipulated some people, including the player, to help get him back to his own dimension by getting them to recite the incantation for summoning him, backwards, thus sending him back to his own dimension to wreak havoc upon the world. He is however summoned back and slain by the player with silverlight and his blood is absorbed into the sword turning it into darklight, a much more powerful version of silverlight.

Chronozon
Chronozon is a demon players fight in the Family Crest Quest. He is called the Blood Demon and must be killed with the 4 blast spells, Wind Blast, Water Blast, Earth Blast and Fire Blast. If not attacked with the 4 blast spells, he cannot be defeated. Besides this, not much is known about him. He is significant for being one of the only demons that drops bones.

The Kalphite Queen, also called KQ, is the 3rd highest level monster in RuneScape. She is regarded as one of the most difficult enemies to defeat, a task that is usually undertaken by clans. The KQ is famous for dropping the valuable dragon chainbody armour.

Location
This giant insect empress lies in a deep lair in the Kharidian Desert. After leaving the Shantay Pass going west, the team of players must use a rope to climb down into the KQ's lair. The Queen resides at the very end of the cavern, past several chambers full of Kalphite Workers, Kalphite Soldiers, and Kalphite Guardians. Beyond these creatures is another hole that must be climbed down via rope. In this last chamber, along with the KQ, there are several of the smaller Kalphite beings, which pester players attempting to kill the KQ, but these are generally ignored.

Two Forms
The Kalphite Queen has an extremely high combat level of 333. She transforms into two varieties of bug. In her first form, the Kalphite Queen is an immense scarab beetle; in her second form, she is a giant wasp. As a beetle, she activates prayers preventing normal damage by magic and ranged attacks. As a wasp, she uses the protect from melee prayer. She varies her attack among melee, mage, and ranged attacks. Challengers must prepare beforehand for these changes, or must be able to adapt styles.

In RuneScape, there are many different types of capes and cloaks. This guide will explain about the different kind of capes and cloaks around RuneScape, the stats they give, and where and how they are obtained.

Freeplay Capes

Normal Capes

First off, these capes are the basic kind of cape around RuneScape, the only capes accessible to freeplay. These can be dyed into six different colors:

Blue
Red
Yellow
Purple
Orange
Green

The original cape which you can dye is black. You can obtain the black cape from killing Highwaymen. Then dye them bye going to Aggie, located in Draynor Village to get the dyes. She will tell you how to make them.

Stats: Defense: Slash+1, Crush+1, Range+2.

Member Capes

Fremennik Capes

These capes are a bit more stylish than the first ones mentioned above. They come in a wider range of colors and are more bright. These capes come from Rellekka, found in the Fremennik Province located just north of Seers Village. When you've completed the Fremennik Trials Quest, Fremenniks may buy these capes from the shop for 325 gp. They come in:

Cyan
Red
Brown
Green
Gold
Gray
Pink
Purple
Black
Lavender
Blue

Stats: Attack: Defense: Slash+1, Crush+1, Range+2.

God Capes

The god capes represent the three main gods of runescape: Saradomin, Zamorak, and Guthix. To get these capes, you must have 60 magic. Then go to the Wilderness Mage Arena and defeat Kolodian to obtain it. When you have picked which cape you want, you will get a god staff with it, either it being Saradomin, Zamorak, or Guthix. However, if you do so die or drop the cape, you must return to the wilderness mage arena and pray at the god statue to obtain it again.

Stats: Attack: Magic+10, Range+0. Defense: Slash:+1, stab+1, crush+2, magic+10.

Wilderness Team Capes

The capes you see here, are mostly for clans. Wilderness capes range from cape #1-50. When worn in the wilderness, other players who wear the same cape as you cannot be attacked, so if you're in a clan, no "accidents" will happen. When another player is wearing the same wilderness cape, their dot on your mini-map is blue. You buy these capes in different ranges of wilderness off merchants, say for example, you buy something of merchant 8, all his capes have 8 in them, so he sells cape 8, cape 18, 28, etc.

The capes come in 5 different colors:

pink or purple
gold
blue
green
red

TzHaar Capes

These capes are located under the hot volcano on Karamja. The best capes in the whole game are located here, even a cape that moves on high detail, yes that's right, a cape that is animated! Do you have what it takes to get these capes?

Obsidian Cape:

The Obsidian cape is one of the newest capes in the game and the second best. The obsidian cape may look a lot like the zamorak god cape, but this is even better. It can be bought at TzHaar city for 90,000 TokKul and also can be obtained by killing the level 133 TzHaar-Xil or the level 149 TzHaar-Ket.

Stats: Defense: Slash+9, Stab+9, Crush+9, Magic+9, Range+9.

Fire (Lava) Cape:

Yes, the moment of truth. This is the one and only cape in the entire game of RuneScape that is animated while playing. Not to mention it's the cape that gives the best stats in all of RuneScape too. Getting this cape is not an easy task; many have tried but only a few came out alive. To get this wonderful cape, you must defeat the TzHaar Fight Caves Mini-Game.

Stats: Attack: Slash+1, Stab+1, Crush+1, Magic+1, Range+1. Defense: Slash+11, Stab+11, crush+11, magic+11, range+11. Strength+4. Prayer+2

Legends Cape

This is the only white cape in the whole game. This Legends Cape is the third best cape in RuneScape. To get this cape, you have to finish the Legends Quest to obtain it. You buy it at the Legends Guild store for 675gp. So when you finish the quest, go and buy yourself the only white cape in the game and wear it with pride and honor. These cost a lot less than the Obsidian Cape and only give 2 less bonus points than the Obsidian Cape so just use your money on this instead, unless you want to show off your wealth.

Stats: Stats: Defense: Slash+7, Stab+7, Crush+7, Magic+7, Range+7.

Castle Wars Cloaks

These cloaks are yet again to represent the gods of RuneScape, but this time only Saradomin and Zamorak. They are bought at the Castle Wars Mini-Game shop for 10 Castle Wars Tickets. When playing then game Castle Wars, you will have the same thing except it is attached with a hood.

Stats: Defense: Slash+1, Crush+1, Magic+0, Range+2.

Ghostly Cloak

This cloak can be obtained if you have gotten to a certain stage in the Desert Treasure Quest or have completed it. As the name says, it's like being a ghost while you're wearing it: you are transparent and you can see through yourself. Along with this, there is also a full set of this ghostly material along with hood,robe, robe bottom, gloves, boots, and the cape itself. Stats: Attack: Magic+5. Defense: Magic+5.

Mourner's Cloak

This cloak is obtained while doing the quest Morning's End - Part One. It goes along with the mourner suit. It gives no added equipment bonuses.

H.A.M. Cloak

No, not the meat ham! This is the Humans Against Monsters cult in RuneScape. This can be obtained by pickpocketing a H.A.M. member or by killing them. Wearing this cloak will give you a better chance to pickpocket a H.A.M. member.

Stats: Attack: Slash+0, stab+0, crush+0, magic+0, range+0. Defense: Slash+1, Stab+0, crush+1, magic+0, range+2.

Getting to Castle Wars

You may be wondering how to get to Castle Wars. It's located in a somewhat isolated spot, but it's well worth the walk there! It's just south of the Observatory and southwest of Ardougne. If you're coming from Ardougne, make sure your on the west side of the river and you'll pass through a Battlefield on your way. Be sure to check out the Route to Castle Wars map if you're having trouble finding it.

Ring of Dueling

However, the easiest way of getting to the Castle Wars Arena is by using a Ring of Dueling to teleport there. The Ring of Dueling is made from an Emerald Ring, and then enchanted. A new one will have 8 charges, meaning that you can teleport to either the Castle Wars Arena or the Duel Arena 8 times before it shatters.

All you have to do is rub the ring while it's in your inventory and then choose the Castle Wars Arena from the list of options.

About the Arena

The Castle Wars Arena is a fun place that has everything you need while you battle. Below is a map of the Castle Wars Arena with each of the important locations numbered.

Locations

1. Lobby - This is where the 'Lobby' is. It's where you'll first enter, and you'll find a Bank Chest, which you can use to access your bank, the 3 Portals, and Lanthus, who you can buy Castle Wars merchandise from.

The 3 Portals you'll find are the portals to which team you wish to be on. There is a blue one for Saradomin, a red one for Zamorak, and a Green one for Guthix. You may choose either Saradomin or Zamorak portals to go directly to your chosen team. If you don't really have a preference you can go through the Guthix portal to be placed on a random team.

Lanthus, the Castle Wars manager is here to help you out. His ticket-exchange store has unique merchandise like Decorative Armor, God Cloaks or Hoods. However, these items can't be bought with coins. You can only purchase them using Castle Wars Tickets. Only the Castle Wars Manual can be bought for cash (which you certainly don't need after reading this!).

Each item sells for Castle Wars Tickets, with exception to the Castle Wars Manual. Tickets are rewarded to you when your team wins a game. When your team wins, everyone on the team receives 2 tickets. If it's a tie, every player will get 1 ticket. If your team loses, you won't receive any tickets.

2. Saradomin Base - This is the Saradomin base, where anyone on the Saradomin team will spawn to defend against the Zamorak Team. the Saradomin Flag is held at the top-most level here.

3. Zamorak Base - Similar to the Saradomin base, this is the home for the Zamorak players. It's only difference to the Saradomin Base is that it's a darker setting.

4. Island - Though not the most important part of the Battlefield, it is essentially where most players cross over into battle. The island has 2 trapdoors leading down into the caverns below and 4 towers which Mages and Rangers sometimes use.

5. Stepping Stones - These Stepping Stones are 1 of the few ways one can get across the river to the other side. To get across, you simply jump from 1 stone to the next. Though slow, you can lose opponents on your tail here.

Point System

The point system is simple. Each time the opponent's Flag or Standard is captured and brought back to your team's base, a point goes to the team that captured the flag. Points are kept track of at the top of the screen. A team can't lose points, even if their Standard gets captured.

Preparing for Battle

Before you enter a portal, take off any headgear such as hats or helmets, and any capes or cloaks, since you'll be wearing your team's colors. You can no longer bring any food to Castle Wars. The only items you can bring are:

Wearable items, like armor or weapons
Runes
Potions

When you go through a portal, you'll be sent to an underground waiting dungeon until the next game starts. There will be a countdown until the next game begins in the upper half of your screen. There are 5 minutes between each game.

Becoming an Animal

Another fun thing about entering the portals is that you can be turned into an animal! How? It's simple. Just wear something of another God while entering a Portal. For example, if I entered the Saradomin Portal while wearing an Unholy symbol of Zamorak or Unholy Book, I would get turned int oeither a Bunny Rabbit or a Sheep. The same goes for Zamorak, except that I'd get turned into an Imp. Even though Guthix has no team, you can get turned into an animal if you wear something of another god while going through the portal.

The Battle Begins

Once the waiting time is up, everyone will be transferred to their home base. You will appear in the Respawn Room, which you have 2 minutes to leave before you get sent out of the game.

In the Respawn Room you'll find:

Portal - This portal can send you back to the waiting room if you wish.
Ladder - Climb up to the next floor, sending you a level closer to your flag.
Table - This table in the corner contains Bandages, which you can take until the end of the game.

Tools & Items

After leaving the Respawn Room and climbing down the ladder, you'll find the Supply Room. Inside are some very helpful items needed in Castle Wars.

Bandages - These are found on the table in the Respawn Room and heal 4hp. Since you can't bring food inside, these are the only things that you can use to heal. They also revive around 30% of your lost Energy, and you can use them on other players.

Climbing Ropes - These are found on a table in the ground floor level. They can be thrown onto battlements on the outer walls so that you can climb up.

Rocks - These can be used with the Catapults on the outer wall to be thrown to the ground below.

Pickaxe - These ordinary Pickaxes are used to mine in the underground caverns to clear away any rocks that have collapsed. You can also collapse rocks to block the passages.

Exploding Potions - These potions are very useful throughout Castle Wars, as they can explode barricades that are in the way, collapse walls and clear rocks in the underground caverns. Just use them with the Barricade, wall or Rocks. Do Not drop these potions as they will explode and cause 15 damage to you!

Barricades - These wooden structures help block your opponents from getting to certain places. All you need to do is set them up at a desired location. Barricades can be destroyed by attacking them until they collapse, or by using an Exploding Potion. However, your team can only set up 10 Barricades at once.

Toolkits - these can repair items like Catapults. If your Catapult gets destroyed, you can use the Toolkit on it to fix it. You can also use a Toolkit to fix your Main Door if it reaches 0% health.

Tinderbox - These can be used with an opponent's Barricade to light it on fire and eventually destroy it.

What to Do in Battle

There are a number of things that you can do in battle. Go on the offensive, defensive, or just help out! You can be offensive and get the flag, be the defensive and defend your flag, or help out by protecting your team members and healing them. Once thing for sure though: always RUN!

Offensive

The players that go on offensive are those who usually go to the other team's base to get the flag. This is an important job, as it helps your team score. The flags of both teams are always located on the very top levels of the castles. When going on offensive, always bring these items:

Bandages - To heal your hitpoints and Energy so that the other team won't kill you.
Exploding Potions - You always need these to blow up the other team's Barricades so that they won't stand in your way.
Barricades - Bring a few of these along because if you get the flag, it's likely you'll be chased by opponents. If you set some of these up behind you, your enemies will get caught behind them.

Defensive

Players on the defensive are the ones who defined their own flag. Usually, they set up barricades around the flag stand so opponents have a tough time getting to it. Also, most of those defending will hang around the base and wait for their enemies so that they can kill them.

Mages and Rangers will almost always be on the defensive, and some will be on the outer wall shooting down invaders. But it's also good to have a few Mages in the castle to use Binding spells on their opponents if they capture the flag. This gives your tame-mates extra time to kill the opponent!

Catapult - On top of the outer wall in the center is the Catapult. It's used as a "rock thrower," be be careful, as it can hurt both enemies and team members. It can take heavy damage so be careful with it!

The operating controls for the Catapult are very simple. You first need a rock in your backpack, and after choosing the "Operate Catapult" option a Firing Diagram will appear. Use the arrows to aim the target (the "X") to where you wish to fire at on the field. Then just click the "Fire Catapult" button.

Helpers

Helpers can do a variety of things:

Healers - Healers on your team are usually those who walk or run around with a full inventory of bandages healing other teammates. A healer isn't necessary and isn't a real occupation, but someone good to have on the team.

Miners - Miners can be a help sometimes when your traveling through the underground passages. They help mine the rocks to clear the paths as well as collapsing them to block your opponents.

Flag Holders - This isn't a designated job, and the only way to get the flag is by killing the opponent that has taken your flag. They try and kill anyone who takes the flag. If the opponent flag-bearer happens to die outside of your castle wall and drops it, a flag holder will take the flag and hold it. This makes it much harder to get the flag. Usually, flag holders are a high level with lots of defense.

Underground Caverns

The underground caverns are extremely useful when playing Castle Wars. It's a small network of tunnels underneath the arena where players can sneak over to their opponent's base. A total of 4 Ladders lead down into the cavern, which lead to both team bases, and the island.

Ladder 1. Saradomin Base - This ladder is located in the northeast corner of the ground floor room in the Saradomin Base. It goes down to the southeast ladder in the cavern.

Ladder 2. Zamorak Base - This ladder is situated like the Saradomin Base, in the corner of the ground floor room but in the southwest corner of the room. It leads down to the northwest ladder.

Ladders 3&4. Island - These ladders are on the north and south halves of the middle island in the arena.

Obstacles

The cave wall obstacles are impassable rocks which block your way, from the tunnels to the center cavern. As said before, when the rocks compile and you cannot get through, you can mine away the rocks using a Pickaxe or use an Exploding Potion to clear them.

You can also use Exploding Potions and Pickaxes to collapse the cave wall, which will then block the tunnel, preventing opponents from getting through.

Helpful Tips

Depending on whether your an offensive or defensive player, here you'll find some helpful tips.

Offensive

Here are some tips you may want to keep in mind when going for the flag:

Never go without bringing plenty of Bandages and a few Exploding Potions or else the other team with slaughter you and you won't be able to get past their Barricade
Use the underground passageways! Its a sneaky way to get inside and that way you won't be bombarded with spells by mages if you pass their outer wall
If you have 43+ prayer then that's great news, as you can protect yourself from Mages, Rangers and Warriors. When you see opponent Mages, turn Protect from Magic on so many of their spells will be ineffective
Try to lose your enemy! Confuse them by going up and down stairs and ladders. You can lose them this way. Another great way to lose following opponents is to jump across the stepping stones. Jump back and forth and then run back to your side, so it'll take a while for them to catch you.
If your a lower level combat player, make sure a higher level teammate is with you. You don't want to die with the flag and have the opponents take it.

Defensive

Here are some tips to keep in mind while on the defensive:

When the game starts, immediately head down to the ground floor and grab several barricades. Then head up and barricade around the flag and the spaces which you can stop your opponents. When doing this, tell your teammates to use alternative ladders or the energy barriers to get around, so they won't attack the barricades
Right when your flag may be captured, run ahead and barricade the front of stairs and such so you can block your opponents and then have your teammates round on them.
Mages always bring some sort of bind/snare/entangle spell! Even though most high level players will turn prayer on, there are several who forget to. So take any opportunity to bind your opponent.
Fight to death! If you're defending at your own base, go to the flag level and keep your eye on the flag. Kill any opponents as they will get sent all the way back to their base, but if you die you only go one floor down.
Keep an eye out for where your opponent is headed. If you can see he is headed toward the stairs or ladders, get there before your enemy does so you can be waiting for them when they reach you.
Try to get your flag back! When an opponent takes a flag, get them! Try any way to block them and once they get outside of your base, do your best to kill them, because then they will drop your flag and someone on your team can pick it up.

Strategies

These strategies will help you survive long in Castle Wars, and perhaps even capture the flag for your team and win the game!

If you're going for the flag directly you should have at least 65+ health. Also take 6 Bandages since they restore 30% Energy for Running and carefully watch your energy level.

You should only need to go through 5 for the run to your opponent's base and back. A good trick is to use the Stepping Stones near the river to slow down your opponents and get away.

Also, if you're low on health over there and a team mate is nearby, switch with him. Distract your opponents while he scores. Also you should bring both Melee Armour and Dragonhide with you when you run. When you get close to the base switch to Dragonhide to prevent mages from killing you and run like your life depends on it. Then when you grab flag switch back to Melee Armour and you should make it out with no problem.

Another good idea is to bring explosive potions in case barricades get in your way. By bringing barricades or a Toolbox so that you can slow your opponents down. Note that the ToolBox is only useful underground. If there is any possible alternative route you can take use that instead.

Another useful tip would be to use the Protection Prayers (Protect From Magic, Protect From Range, Protect From Melee) to get away and also if you have high enough prayer and are low on health the Redemption Prayer can help out a lot.

If you want to be on Defense at the base as a ranger or a mage you should stand on this wall.

Try to take out your opponents quickly with strong magic spells if they're wearing melee armour, but if they are wearing range armour ignore them and let meleers and other rangers get them.

If you're going to melee at the base a recommended barricade style to protect the flag should look like this.

The guy in the corner is trapped between the barricades, so be careful not to do that!

Also, another good tip would be to put a barricade as shown in this picture and use the trap door so therefore if an opponent gets a flag you can slow them down:

If you have a Dds or a D Scimmy and you want to use your specials but also want your strength to increase and you have a d Baxe, just bring a Strength Potion in with you instead.

Underground where the rocks are if your a ranger/mage or are using a spear you can knock people back into rock areas and than with the help of a Toolbox

You can collapse the wall on top of an enemy killing them.

People usually use basic armors for this such as Rune/D Hide/Splitbark/Mystic.
Some people that can afford it use Dragon Armour and a Whip. The weapons and shield in the following pictures can be switched easily so they are not mandatory as you can use any weapon you like.

Melee:

The Vambraces can be switched and usually for melee you should use Klank's Gauntlets. (Under Ground Pass Quest)

Ranged:

Rangers usually use a Magic Bow, Crystal Bow or Knives.

The D Hide switches according to what you can use: Green, Blue, Red, Black

Mage:

Follow these strategies and you will have a very good chance of winning such as this:

Side Tips

The fastest path is going through the center isle, but it is also the most dangerous and most populated.
The equally safe and fast path is via the stepping stones.
The slowest and safest path is via the caves.
When using the stepping stones, you should click on them really rest, and your character will "glide" over them. The other chasers will be a lot slower.
The best protection for your flag is when you capture it yourself. Do this by putting barricades in strategic positions or snaring/entangling the opposing flag holder, then killing them while they are outside your castle and not on the stepping stones, and taking the flag.

Questions & Answers

Here are some frequently asked questions and their answers:

Q: What if I die? Will I lose anything?
A: No, if you die, you will not lose a thing, not even any tools you got from the arena. You will only be sent back to your base

Q: Is there a level range where you can only attack those players around your level?
A: Unfortunately no. Anyone on the opposing team can attack you at any time. It is a multi-combat zone too.

Q: What happens to me if I log out during Castle Wars?
A: If you log out for a lengthy period, then your character will be sent back to the waiting area. But if only for a very short period, then your character should still be where you logged out if the game is still continuing. If the game has ended, then you'll be sent to the waiting dungeon.

Q: Which world should I go to for the best game?
A: Most definitely the crowded worlds like World 2 or 26. The combat is most intense there and there will be more than a hundred players in the arena. If you can't get onto these worlds then try World 18, but World 2 is where the most intense games take place.

Q: If I go to a crowded world, sometimes the portal won't let me in!
A: There are two ways which you can't get into a portal. First, if you're wearing any sort of headgear or cape/cloak, take it off. Second, the game has to have a balanced number of players on both teams. If there are say, 10 more people in Zamorak, then no more players can go through the Zamorak portal until the the player numbers are balanced.

Q: What are the two red and blue flags in the top left corner of my screen, which sometimes say Taken, Safe or Dropped?
A: The two flags signify whether the flag/standards are safe in their stands, whether they have been taken, or if they have been dropped on the ground. Once a standard is removed from its stand, the corresponding 'flag signal' will say "Taken. When it is safe, the flag signal will say "Safe. *When the flag is dropped the signal will say "Dropped.
However, though sometimes your opponents flag may say "Taken" does not always mean that the flag is in your team's possession. It may have been dropped and taken by its own team. So always keep an eye out for the signals.
*There are two ways where a flag can be dropped:
-The flag bearer is killed and will drop the flag.
-One removes the flag from their worn garments.

Armour

When battling your many foes, you will want to be wearing some protective armour. However, it is worth noting that melee armour in general is weak versus magic and strong against range. It also reduces your own ability to cast magic or shoot arrows. There is a large variety of different armours you can wear depending on your defence level. A table of the requirements for the different types of armour is shown below.

Armour Types
Helmets
	Full Helmets offer better protection than Medium Helmets. However if you are Ranging or casting spells, it is best to wear Medium helmets as they dont restrict your vision.
Chainmail
	Chainmail is made up of many small rings which are interlaced. It has good defence versus 'Slash' or 'Crush' attacks but it is weak to 'Stab' attacks as they go through the holes in the chain mail. Chainmail is quite flexible and doesn't disadvantage a Ranger, however it does hinder Magician's if they want to cast spells.
Platemail
	Plate armour is much heavier and stronger than Chainmail. On the downside, it's weak against 'Crush' attacks; but it is good versus 'Slash' and 'Stab' attacks. Rangers and Magicians will find it very difficult to shoot arrows or cast spells while wearing this armour.
Shields
	Although similar, Square shields and Kite shields have some differences. The square shield is weak against 'Crush' attacks, while the Kite shield is weak versus 'Stab' attacks. Both are strong against other types of attacks.

Weapons

Weapons are of course what you use through out the game to attack NPCs and other players with. Again similar to armour above, you need certain Attack levels to be able to wield different types of weapons as shown below.

Being very slow is the disadvantage of this weapon. However, its advantage is its great reach whereby the warrior can attack enemies from a 2 square distance, even over small obstacles. This can be exploited in certain situations.

You can also wield hatchets and pickaxes as weapons, but these are primarily used for woodcutting and mining. They are uneffective in combat.

There are many weapons and armour that do not fall in to the conventional categories as explaind above, and Jagex have brought these out slowly over time. They are usually as rare drops, quest rewards, or only obtainable from guilds. They can either be part of the ever increasing Dragon group - which is a step up from Runite or alternatively, they could be just other types of weapons and armour. See below for detailed info. Special Attacks (members only)

These are special attacks that will hit your enemy with an added affect that will be to your advantage. To perform a special attack, you must check the special attack power bar is full enough. You can see this in the weapon menu.

It is worth noting that only certain weapons have special attacks, not every weapon. The table below shows the different special attacks and information about how they work. Every time you use a special attack, it will drain some of your special energy power as shown on the bar. This automatically regenerates by itself and there is nothing you can do to make it go faster.

This is a fairly steady way of making gold. First you have to complete the Rune Mysteries Quest. This is really easy and is basically alot of walking from varrock to the Wizard Tower. Once you have done this you are able to mine rune essence. You need to get an air talisman. Once you have that, got to the wizards tower, and get teleported to rune essence. Mine the essence, go back and go north through Draynor village, west, untill your just south of falador. Use your talisman to lcate the temple entrance, (its a big rock) Then use talisman on the rock, then you get transported to the air temple. Making money is easy, aspecially if you are a member. My advice to you all is to subscribe for membership and use my tips. I m fairly rich and have good armor all thanks to being a member. First, get an anti-dragon sheild and be prepared for combat.(aspecially if you are lvl 60-80 and Bring teleportation runes just in case.) go to the zamorock temple located tot he north east of falador past goblin village. Go north until you see a black pit with green dragons inside. Good way to make money is to pick pocket! Start by pickpocketing men, your can steal 3gp each time, and they will catch u less with higher levels. and then at 10 pickpocket farmers for 8gp each time, and then at lvl 25 pickpocket warriors in al kharid for 18gp each, u can make about 5k an hours here. then at 40 pickpocket guards for 40gp each, this is where the money start coming in. for more money, when you get to 55 thieving steal from knights in ardourgne and u get 50gp each time. and then once you get to 70 thieving, pickpocket paladins for 80gp and 2 chaos runes! get collecting these and sell 1,000 of them for 200k. and if thats not enough when you get to 75 thieving, start stealing gems from the gem stall. these can sell for good price, or use them for crafting xp. and there's more, at 80 you can steal from hero's! you can make over 1mill gp a day stealing from these guys!User Cheat by gokuandcell

First make sure you only have a weapon with you cause you will be needing to go in the wild.once you put all your stuff in the bank go to the Red Dragon Isle deep in the wilderness. On the Red Dragon Isle you will find White Berries, also if you dont have a weapon there is a black dagger near bye. Once you have your inventory full with the white berries go past the members gate and go north-west. You will find a small building with 2 webs. Slash the webs apart and climb down the ladder, dont worry if anyone is down there cause you cant get attacked down there. talk to one of the men down there and he is a bank(im not sure exactly what one but there is only 3).Store the berries and go back to Red Dragon Isle and collect more. You get 28 White berries each time so you should get 100 in only a little time. Once you have 100 you can sell them from 30k-45k , but dont sell them for less because it is a rip off. first go say to low levels such as 10-31 and ask them if they want their armor turned to gold. If they say they think you'll steal it then say \"I am a Christian.\" (always works for me)=) then if they say they still don't trust you and they say they'll report you just walk away for reporting does not do anything. But if after you tell them you can make they're armor gold and if they say ok, tell them to take off give to you and you'll give back gold. And if they give it to you log out fast. This idea really worked for me now i have 20 whole sets of mithril armor, 10 adamant, and even 4 rune. plus about 10 iron, 20 steel but that doesn't really matter I make a killing.
